You Loved Them For A Reason. Now, for the first time, you can see this sensational new musical and relive one of the world’s biggest ever boybands. THE OSMONDS: A new musical tells the official story from Jay Osmond about the five brothers from Utah who were pushed into the spotlight as children and went on to create smash hits decade after decade.

In the early 1970s, the Osmond brothers attracted a lot of attention from female fans comparable at the time to Beatlemania as their songs climbed and flew up the charts and they played concerts at venues packed with screaming girls.

Donny Osmond was the stand out Osmond, as a solo performer as well as a member of the five-brother band, he was the poster boy and had an army of adoring female fans.

But as the band were massive and popular, they suffered a fall from grace, the band had split and their music is rarely heard on radio these days, which is a a shame, they were popular and all pin ups back in the day.

Jay Osmond (played by the impressive Alex Lodge) is ever-present throughout as the narrator, providing insight into the good times and the bad times of the brothers’ lives.

But while the storyline is interesting we all turned up to see and hear the songs and sounds of the Osmonds. You wont be disappointed as all the classics are rolled during the 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The youngsters playing the junior Osmonds are an absolute delight. They perform brilliantly.

Director Shaun Kerrison ensures the plot moves quickly and smoothly and it’s great fun. The storytelling is impressive and the musical numbers well-staged – and it’s not just for diehard Osmond fans or those of us of a certain age.

Superb storyline, excellent singers, amazing acting, the audience were mesmerised during the whole show. If theres one musical you want to see this year, make sure its this one.

The Osmonds – A New Musical is at The Regent Theatre Hanley until Saturday 9th April 2022
